Porcelain Veneers
Through daily habits, teeth can become stained, chipped, or worn. These imperfections can be masked with modern porcelain veneers. Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain (tooth-colored, durable material) placed over the top of your teeth. This procedure is non-invasive and free of discomfort, but the results are fantastic!

Your cosmetic dentist, Dr. Fredal, places porcelain veneers by first taking an impression of your teeth and discussing the style you would like. Next, the impression is sent to our lab where your veneers are created. While the veneers are being placed on your teeth, we can adjust the size, shade, and fit to meet your needs. The veneers are bonded to each tooth and the cement hardened with a visible light beam. Your new smile is beautiful, durable, and sure to fill you with confidence.

Dental Bonding
This is a procedure that can be completed in one single visit and with no discomfort. Dental bonding refers to the process of using an enamel-like material to cover over common issues such as chipped, stained, or misshapen teeth. The bonding material is spread over the tooth’s surface and sculpted into shape by our skilled cosmetic dentist in Shelby Township. Once hardened, the material is polished to leave you with a beautiful new smile.

A common treatment that is coupled with bonding is contouring. This involves the reshaping of your gum line to increase or even out the size of your teeth. This is necessary for those who have excessive gum tissue that needs to be removed or reshaped. This cosmetic service is performed with anesthesia and/or sedation dentistry for greater comfort.

Invisalign®
What Is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a discreet, removable, clear aligning system designed to straighten your smile without any metal or wires. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® can be removed to brush, floss, eat, or drink – with a minimal impact on your everyday life.

How Does Invisalign® Work?

The process starts with Dr. Fredal using 3D iTero computer technology to scan your mouth. Using this technology, he is able to show you the end result of Invisalign® and design the series of aligners you will need. Each set of aligners is worn for around two weeks and then replaced with a new set. Your teeth are gradually moved into the desired position without too much discomfort.

The average treatment time is around 9-15 months and you will visit Dr. Fredal every six weeks for a checkup. There are so many advantages to Invisalign® and the results are wonderful.

Teeth Whitening
Are you unhappy with your stained, dull, or discolored smile? Do you wish you could brighten the appearance of your teeth? With our in-office teeth whitening, we can lighten the color of your teeth by a number of shades. This type of procedure has proven to be more effective and safer than whitening toothpaste or gels.

Dr. Fredal brightens your smile by using a special gel and applying it to your teeth. This whitening gel is effective in one visit and doesn’t damage your tooth enamel. Your new whiter smile will no doubt boost your confidence and leave you feeling great.

No one likes going to the dentist but the staff at Dr. Fredal's office makes the experience as quick and pleasant as possible. I highly recommend the professionalism and friendliness of the whole office.

Extractions
When your tooth cannot be saved with other restorative procedures, Dr. Fredal may recommend an extraction. The good news is this procedure is far less painful than before due to modern anesthetics and the use of sedation dentistry. Extractions are used to save the surrounding teeth, eliminate pain, and prevent further dental issues.

When removing a tooth, our caring team ensures the area around the tooth is numbed and cleaned. After the tooth is prepared, it is carefully extracted and the remaining area is kept clean.

Your restorative and cosmetic dentist may recommend replacing the missing tooth with a dental implant or bridge.

Dental Implants
Dr. Thomas Fredal is an award-winning prosthodontist and has years of experience replacing missing teeth with dental implants. A dental implant is an artificial post (normally made of titanium), which is surgically placed into your jaw. This post acts as the missing tooth root and is biocompatible. The post is typically topped with a custom-made dental crown resulting in a restored smile.

At Legacy Dental Professionals, we use i-CAT software to plan dental implants. Your dentist uses the software to create a 3-D image of your tooth and plan where the implant should go. He then uses this guide to accurately and precisely to place the implant.

TMJ/TMD
At our office, we do more than just care for your teeth, we also evaluate and align your bite. Millions of people suffer from symptoms such as headaches, neck pain, clicking of the jaw, and tooth sensitivity. This may be a result of issues with your temporomandibular joint or TMJ, which connects your lower jaw to your skull.

TMJ disorders (TMD) often occur due to trauma, grinding of the teeth, or genetics. The discomfort caused can be vast but there are treatments to help. Dr. Fredal can provide medication, surgery recommendations, and special appliances to help with this complex issue. Don’t suffer in silence! If you are experiencing these symptoms, ask your dentist about TMD.
